A Trip to the Tea Garden

Even though his parents usually had a cup of tea every morning, Eddie never really thought about where it came from. “The tea plants grow best in high places where it’s cool and dry,” Dev explained as they climbed the final steps to his family tea garden.

Once Eddie, MJ, and Dev reached the top of the hill, they stopped to take in the scenery. “The view from up here is fantabulous!” said Eddie. “That means it’s fantastic and fabulous.”

“And there goes Eddie making up his own words again,” said MJ, sticking her tongue out at her best friend. “One thing’s for sure: this is nothing like our gardens at home. You call this a garden?”

The hills were lined with bright green rows of tea plants as far as the eye could see. In front of them, a beautiful house stood watch over the fields below.

As they walked toward the house, they spotted Mr. Raffles up ahead, shaking hands with someone at the front door.

“Quick! Let’s go to the side window and see if we can get a better look,” said Dev.
